Educators
Teacher stress and burnout is no joke.
Teaching is exhausting but you don’t have to be exhausted
You are expected to juggle tons of responsibility with limited resources and have a smile on your face. Meetings that could have been an email, new policies, SLOs, standardized testing, professional development that doesn’t fit your subject or that seems unnecessary…the list goes on. You go to work early and stay late most days, and always feel behind. Often on days when you are feeling like a rockstar in the classroom, you feel like you’re failing in other aspects of your life. While you love your job, your students, and your colleagues, it’s just one part of your life. It’s important for you to take care of yourself and have interests outside of teaching.
As a former high school teacher, I truly understand the numerous expectations and stressors that come with a job in education. Whether you need to discuss the juggling act of teaching or need an unbiased place to be yourself and talk about anything BUT teaching, I would love to hold that space for you. You deserve time to slow down, reexamine your priorities, and just be. Therapy is the place for all of that.
